When you are traveling to any country you should always take a few tips on hand in order to fully enjoy your stay.
Without a little local knowledge you may feel as though you are missing out, here are a few tips to make your holiday go smoothly
• To get into Dubai you will need to get a visa. There are different kinds of visas available and if you are going to Dubai purely as a tourist you will have no problem getting yours from your travel agent before you fly. This should not cost too much and is usually valid for 30 days.
• To get an idea of the heat in Dubai in January it is usually 24C rising to around 41C in July – which is hot! Tailor your trip to Dubai around the weather and avoid going there at times when you feel it is too hot.
• Keep yourself protected from the sun, this means plenty of sun cream and appropriate clothes. Although the clothing in Dubai is casual you must remember you are in a Muslim country and be respectful of this.
• If you like to barter and like gold, you will be in your element in one of the Souks. Here you can buy almost anything and half of the fun is negotiating your salesman down in price for items that you want.
• Crime is practically nonexistent in Dubai but this should not mean that you forget about your safety.
Make sure that you put documents such as your passport and return tickets in a safe and keep all money secure.
If you follow these few tips you will have the holiday of a lifetime in Dubai, in fact, when you get home you will be planning your next trip there.
